About Us

Queensland Conference and Camping Centres (QCCC) consists of a team of outdoor education, catering, cleaning, maintenance and management staff striving to care for our guests with professional competence.  Our education and conference centres and expeditions programs are operated by QLD Baptists as a ministry and service of the Baptist denomination to the wider community of South East Queensland. 

We consider guest groups as partners in a win-win enduring relationship. State, church and independent schools, churches of all denominations, craft, music and sport groups, para-church and community organizations are an example of our varied clientele. Our time together is an experience shared. QCCC are privileged to host and serve in excess of 50,000 guests each year, consisting of 700 different groups.  This makes us one of the largest providers of camping programs in Queensland.

QCCC acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we walk daily.  We honour Elders past, present and those of the future. Aboriginal custodianship of South East Queensland has a history of many thousands of years prior to colonisation and their care and nuture of the local environment is a powerful precedent and pointer to our own sense of obligation to use outdoor education to teach custodianship of this country. 

Underpinning our effort is a shared belief in the historical figure of Jesus, a carpenter from Nazareth, and a sense of obligation to be true to his teachings.  The narrative of the bible is one of a redemptive process, entirely consistent with care and custodianship of the beauty of Creation which is best experienced through outdoor education.  Australia is a nation with an historical benefit derived from a Judeo-Christian heritage, and we see our role as continuing to advocate this approach to life, along with its benefits, proven throughout history. 

For the person not convinced about the historicity of Christ, we can understand that the suggestion of advocacy may be unsettling.  Many people have had experiences in life where some one identifying as "Christian" have by their action and approach been inconsistent with the type of spirituality advocated by Christ. However, arguably the exclamation point in history that is the life and times of Jesus Christ was created more by his actions and example than his words.  Similarly, QCCC takes seriously that for some people we might be “the only Jesus some will ever meet and the only Book of Life some will ever read.”   Actions can speak louder than words, as do common human (well actually they’re biblical) courtesies of gentleness and respect.
