In response to the growing success of its camping and conferencing ministry, Queensland Conference and Camping Centres (QCCC) has appointed a new Director of Camping to oversee operations at its three South East Queensland facilities.
The purpose of the position is to work with existing facility managers and staff to further the mission of QCCC through the development and management of new and existing ministry programs, pastoral input and translating ministry vision into strategic operations.
The successful applicant is Andrew Grant and his family, wife Anne and three boys Joseph, Timothy and Elijah. The Grants have recently completed a move from Dubbo, NSW, where Andrew was the Director of Business and Finance with Cornerstone Community, a tent-making incarnational mission order reaching and discipling rural youth.
Andrew brings fifteen years of experience in missional community. Andrew’s role previous entailed responsibility for Cornerstone’s commercial ventures that were operated for the purposes of discipleship and support of the mission.
It gives him a breadth of business knowledge (including being franchisee of two outlets of Domino’s Pizza) as well as a thorough grounding in ministry and discipleship.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to join the QCCC family and contribute to their operations and ministry,” Andrew said from his base at the Mapleton Centre on the Sunshine Coast hinterland. “QCCC has some of the most breathtaking and versatile camping and conferencing venues in South East Queensland and it’s a privilege to join with the current staff and work with such great facilities.”
QCCC currently operates facilities catering to conferences, school camps and retreats at Brookfield (13km from the Brisbane CBD), Mapleton (Sunshine Coast hinterland) and Mount Tamborine (Gold Coast hinterland).
